For over 90 years, the Hertzog name has been synonymous with excellence in eye surgery and vision services. Founded in 1927 by Francis “Fritz” Hertzog, the business is currently owned and operated by Dr. Leif Hertzog, M.D. (4th Generation) and his son, Dr. H. Dieter Hertzog, MD (5th generation). Our surgeons continue to deliver the highest quality eye care in the Long Beach and Orange County areas.

We provide expert care in a wide variety of surgical procedures, including cataract surgery with premium lens implants, eyelid surgery, and laser vision correction. We also provide routine eye examinations and expert medical care for common eye diseases such as cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. Our Long Beach optometrist, Dr. Darcy Ryan, provides refractions for glasses and contact lenses and is an expert at fitting the latest generations of contact lenses and spectacles.

Also, we have a full-service optical with a lab, so we can make most glasses in-house. We have a great selection of frames in a wide range of prices and styles (from designer to conservative) with any type of lenses available. Lens types include the latest progressive (no-line bifocal) designs, transitions (lenses that tint into sunglasses when outside in the sun), and any lens color and tint you would want in sunglasses. Our skilled and style-conscious opticians will make sure that you leave our optical shop looking like you just stepped off the plane from Paris.
