Ophthalmic Scribe

Job Description

This role involves supporting clinics within Houston, TX. Travel time from home clinic to other clinics will be compensated. The position requires documenting physician visits in the EMR system and assisting with scribing duties. Candidates will occasionally handle instruments as requested by the physician, perform patient work-ups after doctor visits, and communicate effectively with patients about procedures and treatments.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills
  • Medical assisting and patient care experience.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and EMR systems.
  • Experience in ophthalmology and medical documentation.
  • Data entry and typing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a life science.
  • Experience working with 30+ patients per day.
  • Ophthalmic experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 months on-site scribing experience, 2 years preferred.
  • Hands-on patient care experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and handle high volumes of patient care.
  • Driven and great personality.
Work Environment

The role supports multiple clinics with flexibility required, as there are no set days. Work is Monday through Friday, with start times ranging from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm until the last patient leaves. The environment is extremely fast-paced, seeing 80-100 patients a day. The dress code includes navy blue scrubs, short and groomed nails, and hair must be tied back

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
