Job Description
Associate Optometrist – Private Practice in Moscow, ID & Pullman, WA
Moscow & Pullman Family Eye Care is seeking a compassionate and motivated Optometrist to join our thriving, patient-centered practice. If you’re looking for a rewarding clinical role with competitive compensation, collaboration with ophthalmologists, and the independence to shape your own practice style at our Pullman location, we’d love to meet you!
About the Practice
We are a privately owned, community-focused eye care practice serving the friendly university towns of Moscow, Idaho and Pullman, Washington. Our team includes two ophthalmologists and one optometrist who work together to provide full-scope eye care: primary vision care, medical optometry, and surgical co-management. We have two well-established clinics with modern technology, a loyal patient base, and a reputation for high-quality, personalized care.
The Opportunity
We are excited to welcome an OD who wants to take a leading role in developing and growing our Pullman location. This is a unique opportunity to build your own practice-within-a-practice, shaping the services, culture, and patient experience. You’ll have the freedom to develop areas of special interest, grow a patient base, and create a space that reflects your personal style of optometric care — all while being fully supported by our team and infrastructure.
Position Highlights
Generous Salary & Bonus: Base salary of $130,000 plus a performance-based bonus tied to collections. Current ODs earn well above their base salary when meeting patient care targets.
Comprehensive Benefits: Full benefits package (~$15,600 value) including health insurance with HSA, paid vacation and CME, retirement plan with employer contributions, and full coverage of licensure fees, AOA dues, and malpractice insurance.
Positive Workplace Culture: We are a community-focused practice committed to compassionate, patient-first care without the pressures of high-volume or retail-driven environments. Our team culture is supportive, collaborative, and values-driven — making for a workplace where doctors, staff, and patients all thrive.
Collaborative Team: Work alongside two ophthalmologists and another optometrist in a collegial, supportive team. You'll enjoy easy access to consultation, mentorship, and collaboration — especially in managing ocular disease and surgical co-management.
Full-Scope & Diverse Caseload: Practice to the full extent of your license. In our rural setting, you’ll care for a variety of cases — comprehensive exams, contact lens fittings (including specialty lenses), ocular disease management, urgent care (foreign bodies, red eyes), and post-surgical care.
Independence to Shape Your Clinic: Especially at the Pullman location, you’ll have the flexibility to make this practice your own, developing services and patient care approaches that align with your interests and professional goals.
Mentorship Available: New graduates are encouraged to apply! Our experienced OD and MDs are ready to provide support as you grow into the role, particularly with surgical co-management, ocular disease, and practice-building.
Work-Life Balance:
Standard Monday–Friday schedule, with no regular weekend hours.
Minimal call coverage, shared among providers.
Flexible schedule options available. Full-time (4–5 days/week) preferred, but part-time will be considered.
Commutes are short (often under 10 minutes) and the community offers an excellent quality of life.

Who We’re Looking For
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
Eligible for Idaho and Washington licensure (we’ll help you navigate dual licensing)
New graduates or experienced ODs welcome
Passion for patient-centered care and interest in growing the Pullman location
Excitement about practicing full-scope optometry in a collaborative, community-focused environment
Start Date
We are looking to hire as soon as possible, but can be flexible for the right candidate. Ideally, we would love to have our new optometrist onboard within the next 3–6 months.
Why Join Us?
If you are looking for a role where you will have the independence to shape your own practice, work closely with a supportive MD/OD team, and become an integral part of a welcoming community, we’d love to meet you. Here, you can build something meaningful, serve patients who will know you by name, and enjoy a balanced life both inside and outside the clinic.
