Job Description
Presbyterian is seeking a Cardio Technologist to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an Outpatient Clinic . Common responsibilities include preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the provider with treatments and procedures, medication administration, support for clerical functions to include scheduling, referrals, authorization and in-basket support with the EMR.
Type of Opportunity: Full Time (1.0 FTE/40 hours per week)Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8 hour days

- 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in a cardiac setting
- 3 years Medical Assistant experience
- Specialized training in clinical medical skills from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Annual Basic Arrhythmia Class and Pass Basic Arrhythmia Challenge Test within 9 months of hire date
- Completes Scribe training
- BLS required at time of hire
- High school diploma or GED
- Participates on care team to meet patient care and clinic needs, working cooperatively with others to accomplish required work in a timely and efficient manner.
- Visit Navigation: Prepares patient for the visit, collecting appropriate and accurate data, and providing all aspects of primary support to the provider.
- Equipment and Procedures: Uses equipment and performs patient care procedures in a safe, competent manner according to defined standards of practice.
- Message Management / Test Result Notification: Responses to patient calls related to test results, medication refills, and referral requests under the direction of the provider. Trained in various programs to include but not limited to scheduling, prior authorizations, and referral management.
- Schedules patient appointments according to guidelines
- Perform other duties as required
