Dr. Funnell Optometry in Ventura, CA 93003 is seeking a part-time Optometrist to join our team. Join our dedicated and compassionate eye care team focused on delivering the highest quality of care and products to our patients.

About Our Office: My goal is to empower an associate doctor to deliver the best possible care.  Clinic is designed to make any and all diagnostic testing available.  I want to consitenly deliver an elevated and accurate eye exam, focused on the patients needs.  I want the doctor to feel rewarded by their hard work and success with production compensation. By offering high-quality materials, robust medical testing, and patient-forward compassionate care, we can accomplish those goals.

We Offer:

• Advanced Technology: All patients receive macular OCT and Optos imaging prior to their annual exams, enhancing your ability to deliver thorough care.
• Flexible Scheduling: Enjoy flexibility in your daily schedule, and modify it to maximize your enjoyment and production opportunities.
• Moderate Patient Volume: Typically see 10-12 comprehensive eye exams per day, with opportunities to increase your schedule.
• Incentive Structure: Benefit from a competitive base pay per diem, or 15% of daily collections, whichever is better, ensuring you are rewarded for the success you bring to the practice and care provided for patients.
• Specialized Practice: Access to treat conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration, with best practice guidelines at your fingertips.
• Specialty Services: We fit specialty contact lenses and offer anterior segment OCT for scleral lenses, enhancing our offerings.

Job Expectations:

• Provide exceptional eye care services to patients.
• Conduct contact lens fittings (specialty lens experience appreciated).
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases (training or collaboration available).
• Interpret optical coherence tomography and pre-testing procedures.
• Dry eye and anterior segment disease management and treatment.
• Educate patients on diabetic retinopathy and other eye conditions.
• Perform pre and post-operative co-management (additional compensation).

Salary: Starting at $550 per day, or 15% of net collections on patient care, whichever is highest.

Job Requirements:

• Doctor of Optometry degree.
• Experience in optometry practice (open to working with new grads).
• Proficiency in OCT, dilated exams, skilled refraction, visual field interpretation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to accurately record findings into EHR.
• Ability to code an eye exam and procedures performed accurately (can help if needed).
